APRIL 2021
The capture campaigns for the implantation of transmitters for telemetric monitoring are continuing successfully. Two other male European mink have just been equipped in the last few days.
New transmitter for the male Badu, already followed by telemetry in 2020
At the end of February, the adult male Badu, followed in spring 2020 on the Charente upstream of Angoulême, was recaptured. Very healthy with its 1010 g, he has been equipped with a new transmitter. This will allow us to compare the new data with those collected in 2020 at the same period and to study the potential interactions with the two other individuals monitored in this sector, Gwenn and Mellea. A new male equipped in the Rochefort marshes
At the beginning of March, a new mink, Hagrid, born last spring, was accidentally captured in a cage for coypu by the Federation of Hunters of Charente-Maritime, which immediately notified the LIFE VISON teams. This magnificent mink of almost 990 g was also equipped with a transmitter, allowing to compare its behavior with that of the young mink Gwenn in Charente, but also to study the possible interactions with the two other individuals followed in Charente-Maritime, Tim and Naïa.
