Conservation of the European mink
The LIFE VISON programme (vison means European mink in French) is a 5 year project launched to save one of the most endangered mammals in Europe, the European mink (Mustela lutreola). It aims at maintaining or increasing the European mink’s population in one of the species last stronghold areas (the Charente river catchment).

Ending of the LIFE LUTREOLA SPAIN programme
The closing seminar of the LIFE LUTREOLA SPAIN programme, which focused on the preservation of the European mink in Spain, took place on November 6th in Bilbao.
Resumption of the trapping sessions for the European mink
More than 30 sessions will be implemented from September 2018 to March 2019 in the LIFE VISON area.
A European mink spotted and photographed in the Rochefort marshes!
On August 22th, a European mink, a critically endangered species, was observed crossing a path in a plot belonging to the LPO (Birdlife France) in the Rochefort marshes.

LIFE Vison
THE EUROPEAN MINK
It is a carnivorous mammal belonging to the Mustelidae family. It is classified as “critically endangered” according to IUCN’s Red List of threatened species.
